Our story
With a shared passion husband and wife team Ralph and Janice Cocchi opened their first store “Remember When Antiques” 25 years ago. Located in Verona, the shop features antique and vintage furnishings, lighting, décor, crystal, china and giftware. Nine years later they decided to take their business a step further by opening a second store in Chatham, calling it “Home Sweet Home”.
Janice managed the Chatham location showcasing her decorative talents, displaying painted furniture and unique gifts as well as seasonal items. Soon thereafter she started a custom furniture painting business and it began to flourish. Realizing she was outgrowing the space, an opportunity for larger space became available in Madison, and Janice knew the time was right. Not only did it give her adequate retail space, but also a workroom for painting and inventory.
Ralph’s keen eye for exquisite furniture continues to produce an exciting and ever changing inventory. From week to week you will discover new treasures. When you find the perfect piece and would like it painted, Janice’s creative team steps in. Whether purchased in Verona or Madison or brought from your home, Home Sweet Home would love to paint it. The owner, Janice, has repainted my kitchen cabinets and just finished painting 4 pieces of furniture for me. She transformed my kitchen to a bright airy space. She helped me pick out the colors for the furniture and every piece is gorgeous and fits perfectly into my house. She has an artist’s eye for color and the workmanship is the best I've ever seen. Her pricing is very reasonable and to top it off she is a pleasure to work with. You won't be disappointed!
